“You Can’t Stop Sisters”- Nike Celebrates Legacy of Serena Williams and Venus Williams Ahead of US Open 2020

Williams sisters have been winners of the 30 Grand Slam titles in the open era of tennis. Serena and Venus have been the biggest inspiration for the upcoming generation in the sport. For this reason, They have often celebrated by someone across the world.

While Serena and Venus get ready for their opening-round matches at the US Open 2020, the Sportswear giant Nike celebrates Williams Sisters’ legacy via advertisement.  

Serena Williams voiced, “Ever since we were little girls, you have compared us to each other. My game versus her game, my ranking vs her ranking, my titles versus her titles, my Grand Slams versus her Grand Slams.”

She also added, “It’s funny, you saw two tennis players trying to win a game. We saw two sisters changing it.”

Williams Sisters’ Legacy

The two American women have begun their professional tennis careers in the 90s. They have won 122 singles WTA titles(Venus-49 & Serena-73) and 30 Grand Slam titles(Venus-07 & Serena-23) so far. Sisters have won 14 Doubles Grand Slam titles and several Gold Medals in Olympic Games as well.

While Venus and Serena reached number one in the singles in 2002, Besides, Williams sisters ranked top in the doubles in 2007. Both of them ranked number one in the world 327 weeks(Venus-11 weeks & Serena-316 weeks).

Williams sisters have consecutively won the Wimbledon title two times in the span of four years. They have won the US Open title one time on the same.

They have faced each other on the courts 31 times in their career. Serena leads Venus in head to head(19-12). Moreover, the recent compete at the Top Seed Open 2020 Kentucky, Venus lost to younger sister Serena in the three sets.
