Simona Halep bowed out of the French Open 2022 after a three-set defeat to Chinese Qinwen Zheng. Although, the two-time Grand Slam winner seemed like a winner of the second-round match before suffering from a panic attack.
Following an unfortunate incident, the former World No.1 revealed the reason behind the on-court catastrophe that she survived with mental and physical issues for the past 18 months.
“I’m generally not a dramatic person, and I hope I don’t sound like this by writing these words now. The last 18 months were very tough, emotional, and physical,” Simona Halep wrote on her Instagram page.
However, the 2018 French Open champion enthusiastically got back to regular work. Moreover, the Romanian also shared her workout video clip on her Instagram stories.
“Bravo!”: Coach Patrick Mouratoglou Reacts After Watching Simona Halep Drill
After parting ways with Darren Cahill, Simona Halep works with Frenchman Patrick Mouratoglou. Under Serena Williams’s former coach’s guidance, she competed in Madrid, Rome and Roland Garros.
Even though the new collaboration’s performance has been sub-par, the coach and pupil’s activities show that triumph is near at hand.
After watching Halep’s workout, Patrick Mouratoglou commented, “Bravo! Already back to work. This is fire”
The famous coach also confirmed that he would work with Simona Halep during the grasscourt season as well. “I will be with Simona at Wimbledon 100%. And I will be with her also a week before Wimbledon, maybe the tournament played on the grass to prepare for Wimbledon”, Patrick Mouratoglou answered.
