Spaniard Paula Badosa has announced that she wouldn’t compete at the upcoming Billie Jean Cup Qualifiers 1st round due to physical and medical problems.
According to the BJK Cup schedule, Spain will face the Netherlands from 15th to 16th April at Maaspoort Sports & Events, s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
Moreover, world No.3 had a roller-coaster season. At the same time, she competed in eight WTA events on the three different continents this year so far and for this reason, she travelled thousands of kilometres as well.
As a consequence, the 24-year-old from Madrid may be physically worn out and has decided to not appear in this week’s Billie Jean Cup qualifiers against the Netherlands.
“It is not an easy decision, who knows me knows how complicated it is for me not to compete and I was especially looking forward to this one but advised by the medical team and due to physical and medical problems with which I have had to compete in recent weeks, I will be out of the call for the BJK Cup”, Badosa wrote in her recent Twitter post.
The Spanish woman also added, “I will be cheering on my teammates in the distance with a desire to compete for side by side with them in the next call.”
Last but not least, Paula Badosa has a win-loss record of 18-7 in 2022 and claimed the title at Sydney International in Australia.
