Having an intention to win one more Grand Slam title, the former World No.1 Serena Williams is exhibiting her best standard tennis at the Australian Open 2021. The 10th seed American has now advanced to the fourth round on Friday after a straight-set(7-6, 6-2) win over Anastasia Potapova.

Junior Williams, one of the perfect servers in the WTA Tour, landed nine aces and converted five out of eight break points during the third round match against 19-years-old Russian.

World No.11 will however now face the seventh seed Aryna Sabalenka for a quarterfinal seat on Saturday.

When speaking about her next round opponent none other than 22-years-old Sabalenka, Serena said, “She hits very hard. She has a big, big power game. She’s a big girl. Strong like myself. I think it will be a perfect match.”

“I Want To Dominate On Tour The Same As She(Serena) Does”, says Aryna Sabalenka

Looking for the first Grand Slam quarterfinal appearance, World No.7 Sabalenka locks horns with Serena Williams for the first time in the WTA Tour. Notably, Sabalenka defeated American Ann Li in her previous round in the straight sets.

Considering 23-time Grand Slam Champion as a role model, Sabalenka said of Serena Williams, “The first time [I saw her play], I think… I was around 13 years old. I think I said,’ I want to hit even more potent than her.”

“I don’t know if it was, was it smart or not, but [at] that point, I was thinking like, ‘Wow, she’s mighty. I want to be powerful, too, and I want to dominate on tour the same as she does,” Belarusian added.

However, Serena Williams and Aryna Sabalenka both are praised each other for their strengths. Will we see who wins the battle and reach the quarterfinal of the Australian Open 2021?
