“I’m Not Too Disappointed”: Simona Halep Confident of Strong Comeback After Defeat at Australian Open 2021

No.2 seed Simona Halep has now gone out of the Australian Open 2021 after a straight-set(3-6,3-6) defeat against No.10 seed Serena Williams

After a painful quarterfinal loss, the 29-years-old athlete from Romania revealed that she had an attitude problem throughout the Melbourne Park major tournament. At the same time, Halep said that she would work on her psychic and make a strong comeback.

“My feeling after this match is that I was not that far, but also, she was stronger in the important moments. I had 3-1 in the second set, and service didn’t help me much. I had to be a little bit stronger on the server, but it didn’t work today,” Simona Halep said in the post-match interview.

“Attitude Maybe A Little Bit Negative The Whole Tournament”, says Simona Halep 

Wimbledon reigning now holds No.2 position with 7255 points in the Women Tennis Association(WTA) Ranking table. Halep can lose her place, if the current No.3 Naomi Osaka(5965 points) wins the Australian Open 2021 title. 

“In my opinion, I had a good game tonight. I’m not that disappointed about myself. Attitude maybe a little bit negative the whole tournament, but I’m going to work on this, and I will come back stronger, for sure, with that,” Halep added. 

Simona suffered due to a heavy loss, but she can be seen on the WTA tour again after a fortnight. Romanian signed up for the WTA 500 event in Doha, scheduled to take place from 1st to 6th March.

Following Qatar’s trip, Halep will move to the United Arab Emirates to defend her title at Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, which runs from 7th to 13th March.
