Palermo Open CEO invited Simona Halep

In some places of the world becomes normal after the impact of the Coronavirus Pandemic. As a consequence, tennis courts have opened for events. However, Palermo Open CEO Palma invited Romanian Tennis Star Simona Halep for play in the Ladies Open Tennis Tournament.

The Palermo Ladies Open WTA International will be the first women’s tournament in the resumption of the tennis tours. Moreover, several top European tennis players such as former Roland Garros champions Jelena Ostapenko and Svetlana Kuznetsova have confirmed their participation in an Italian tennis tournament.

Besides, two time Grand Slam champion Simona Halep would like to resume her WTA tennis tour in this tournament. Palermo Open CEO, Oliviero Palma has confidence over Simona Halep’s participation in the 31st edition of the Ladies Open tournament.

“We are glad about Simona Halep’s great interest in the Palermo Ladies Open. We will be waiting for her at the Country Club for a historic edition of the Palermo tournament. And We have been in contact with Halep’s manager for some time. We have been talking for days about her potential participation in Palermo” said Oliviero Palma.

On the other hand, Simona Halep has not yet confirmed traveling to Palermo. “I have not yet made a clear decision but I hope to start with Palermo,”   she said in a recent interview. The women’s tennis tournament will begin on August 3rd in the city of Palermo, Italy.

Right now, World Number two Simona Halep put on hold her decision over the US Open 2020 participation. In the meantime, She might ready to play in the upcoming European tennis tours. Recently, She played a Romanian domestic tennis tournament in the Mixed doubles event.

She is one of the best players in the world and her presence would contribute to making an already high-level tournament extraordinary. We will leave our doors open to her for as long as possible, as well as for other top ten players that will want to resume their season in Palermo” said Palma
