“Stronger Together”- Simona Halep on Roger Federer’s ATP-WTA Merger

The merger can help tennis enter a new arena in the sports world. It will be helped to reach more spectators. And also increase the chance to reduce the pay gap between men and women tennis players. The merger can benefit not only players but also it makes a beneficial impact on online viewer’s contracts, sponsorship deals. Deuce Grand Slam winner Simona Halep has strengthened Federer’s merger plan. 

Wimbledon Reigning Simona said to Reuters: “I think the advantages of a merger would be unifying the sport, and being stronger together. If we have one product, one brand and everyone working together to achieve the same goals, the future of tennis could be very bright after we come out of this crisis.”

“Men and women on the same level, marketed and promoted in the same way with equal opportunities and of course equal prize money across the board. It would also be exciting to have the chance to work more closely with the top male players,” said Halep, a French Open champion.

Although, the Tennis governing bodies have a difference in ranking systems, prize money, tennis ball, entry protection, tournament schedule, and location as well.
