“Sheer Madness”: Pete Sampras’s Coach On Rafael Nadal’s Achievement At Roland Garros

Everyone from the tennis world has been passing through the insane cave at least once after Rafael Nadal won his 13th title at the French Open. While someone calls Spaniard the best athlete in history, another one reveals I was cried when he had lifted the title at Roland Garros. Rafa won his title a couple of weeks ago, but he is showering on praise till now.

The 33-years-old Nadal began this year’s French Open amidst not only the pandemic and unfavored conditions and predictions. Additionally, the new Wilson balls were also a challenge for him. Earlier, he was defeated in the Italian Open quarterfinals as well. 

However, Spaniard proved once again he is a king of clay. Nadal crushed his opponents in straight sets from beginning to end of the tournament between heavy winds and cold. Ultimately, Rafa defeated the conditions favorite Novak Djokovic in the final without any pressure and lifted his 13th title on the Parisian clay.   

Besides, Nadal leveled Roger Federer’s record as the most Grand Slam winner in men with his 20th title.  

“Nadal Achieved In Paris Will Not Happen Again”: Paul Annacone

The well-known person in the tennis circuit and Legend Pete Sampras’s coach Paul Annacone has now come to praise Rafael Nadal for his Roland Garros’ most remarkable achievement.

Former American tennis professional has discussed over GOAT debate and Nadal’s achievements at the French Open with Tennis Magazine Italia recently.  

Speaking about Rafa’s 13th title, Annacone said, “The mere fact of having won the same Grand Slam thirteen times is sheer madness. I don’t see it as a flaw. In fact, I think it can be considered the greatest achievement in the history of the sport. I think that what Nadal achieved in Paris will not happen again.”
