“She Is Doing That So I Wish Her Good luck”- Boris Becker on Serena Williams’ 24th Grand Slam Title at US Open 2020

Former world number one Serena Williams eyes on her 24th Grand Slam title for a couple of years. Serena and fans hope on she will win that in the ongoing US Open in Flushing Meadows. Meanwhile, Seven times Grand Slam Champion Boris Becker believes that she will do it. 

Junior Williams won her 23rd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in 2017. Followed by, 38-years-old Serena Williams reached the finals at Wimbledon and the US Open last two years. However, She missed claiming her 24th title there.

“You have to give her(Serena) a little bit of time to find their form”- Boris Becker

German former tennis star Boris Becker answered when he was asked “Do you think Serena Williams is ready to win her 24th Grand Slam at this year’s US Open?”

Former world number one Boris Becker explained about Serena’s participation at the US Open 2020. Additionally, He said, “First of all, I think it is very honorable of Serena to play. Six of the top 10 ladies are not playing, which I frankly don’t understand. Everybody has their own issues, health and safety shouldn’t be one because the USTA has guaranteed it already if you follow the rules.”

“Serena is a leader of the game, and a leader always has to step up and lead the pack and I think she is doing that so I wish her good luck,” German added.

Furthermore, the 1989 US Open Champion mentioned, “Yes, she is the favorite. You have to give her a little bit of time to find their form, everyone will be a little nervous in the first week. But once you start the second week, you know you have three wins under your belt, you feel confident and you feel better. But the first few matches, male and female, the players will feel more fragile.”
