Moreover, the former world number one is continuously training hard and has made special arrangements for the US Open. Additionally, she is practicing at her mansion in Beverly Hills. She has prepared the surface of the court similar to that of the US Open. Also, Serena’s home consists of all kinds of apparatus to keep her fit for the tournament.
Coach Patrick Mouratoglou said on her preparations with an interview with Ubitennis, “Serena can win with all the best players and she can also lose if she is not able to play her best tennis against whoever is on the other side of the court. She is filming her practice and sending me videos and then we chat.”
Chase For The Evasive 24th Grand Slam Is On For The Serena Williams
The 50 years-old Patrick Mouratoglou has been coaching tennis great Serena Williams since 2012. Under his coaching, Williams has won ten Grand Slam titles and Gold medals in the 2012 London Olympic Games.
The Frenchman further added, “Serena has been practicing well. Serena was able to do fitness when she was at home, but she was confined, and then she started tennis three weeks ago. Serena even played with the Italian, Matteo Berrettini when he was in Florida. So she is in good shape.”
Additionally, the younger Williams had to practice with Matteo, a top 10 ATP player when she was in Florida. The world number nine will look forward to ace the event and win her evasive 24th Grand Slam. The US Open has scheduled to begin on the 31st of next month in New York.
