Roger Federer Celebrates His Countrywomen’s Amazing Achievement



There is good news for Switzerland! Earlier today Joana Heidrich and Anouk Vergé-Dépré won the title at the European Beach Volleyball Championships in Jurmala, Latvia. Whenever talking about Switzerland, the Swiss legend Roger Federer can never be left out. 

The 39-year-old was fast to wish the team and took to Twitter to congratulate the team. The Swiss women came out as the winners after what can be called a thrilling final. The scoreline reading 18:21, 21:14, and 18:16, in the deciding set of the game.

Federer reposted SRF sports’ post announcing the results and added his own symbolic emojis to it. He just went with five emojis but the ones which meant a lot. First were two medals for both athletes. Then was an emoji with a beach umbrella, that represented the sport, ‘Beach Volleyball’.

The final two emojis represent something very particular and prove to be very meaningful. They were two balls that represented the fact that this was the second European title for women for Switzerland. So the two balls represented the two great achievements.

Swiss Maestro Federer ‘s Comeback Update

The 20-time grand slam champion was last seen on the court at the Australian open 2020 semi-finals when he was defeated by the no.1 Novak Djokovic. He has not been seen since then. The legend had to undergo knee surgery in June this year and has been on rest since.

He has decided to not take part, in any event, this year and recently announced that he will miss the Australian open 2021. Nevertheless, the Swiss has listed himself for the Tokyo Olympic games 2021 and will be back on the court.

Thankfully, it was reported that the Swiss Maestro is returning to his short training sessions. His coach Severin Luthi also confirmed in an interview, that after the Australian Open 2021, there are chances that Federer will be fully fit again.
