
Current world number one Novak Djokovic and number two Rafael Nadal’s participation at the Cincinnati Open has been confirmed. Cincinnati open is the warm-up event and acts as a huge boost before the US Open.
Both the Serbian and the Spanish’s participation at the US Open was very much doubtful considering the Roland-Garros which will be taking place soon after the third Slam of the year.
Recently, the world number one told Eurosport that he was “very glad” that the US open was taking place and that it was “fantastic news” for the tennis sports fraternity.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the events will be taking place shortly after one another this year. After the forceful break of more than five months, the remaining events of the year have been cramped together within a couple of months.
Moreover, It is surprising to know that both the tennis stars will be playing US Open at the Flushing Meadows, which is also where the Cincinnati open will take place, to limit travel for the players.

It is even more shocking to know Nadal’s confirmation for the warm-up tournament, as he has enlisted himself for the Madrid Masters being held immediately after the US Open also.
The warm-up event will start from 20th August to 28th August 2020 at the USTA’s Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City.
The ATP Tour tweeted the entry list for the Cincinnati open, which included Djokovic, Nadal along with Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, and others.
Moreover, according to the list of confirmed participants, both defending champions of the tournament will be present this year, Daniil Medvedev and Madison Keys, along with the G.O.A.T, Serena Williams.
