The recent top player’s withdrawal would be a big blow for the U.S.Open 2020. However, two-times Majors Champion Petra Kvitova is ready to fly to the United States for New York majors participation. Moreover, Her announcement will give a boost to tour organizers.    

While Women’s tennis tours started last week in Palermo Open, and this week in Prague Open and Lexington, Besides, Petra Kvitova said in a video conference with reporters during a tournament visit to Sparta, “It’s important that tennis is slowly coming back, and I believe that everything will be normal soon.” 

She also said, “Then I could blame myself one day. That’s why I’ll try my best and have a clear conscience, let it turn out as it turns out. I’m really looking forward to matches, adrenaline, and everything around. It’s a long time and tennis after all. I miss it. It will be nice.”

The Czech has planned to go to New York next Wednesday with her coach Jiří Vaňek and German physiotherapist Florian Zitzelsberger. She also said, “They’ve allowed us a two-member escort, so we’ll fly in three with a coach and a physiotherapist.”

While top players like  Ashleigh Barty, Elina Svitolina and Kiki Bertens  announced their withdrawals from this year’s U.S.Open,  But, two-time event quarter-finalist said “Not everyone wants to be there, I respect that, but the starting field will still be strong.”

Kvitova also spoke about playing U.S.Open 2020 behind closed doors, She told, “We have reported that they will put virtual fans there, so hopefully it will be a little more enjoyable.”

In the middle of a pandemic, Petra also participated in the Berlin exhibition tournaments in Grass and Hard courts. Additionally, Petra Kvitova said about her preparation for the upcoming American tennis tours, “That’s why I don’t know what to expect from each other. It will be all sorts of things, but I’ve been training quite a lot lately and I hope that it will be signed in the game in a good way.”

Moreover, Kvitova added, It’s not very pleasant, but it can be endured. I’ve done worse things in my life than the COVID test.”
