Moreover, Serb revealed that he initially approached both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to be a part of it at the time of the association’s formation. But they denied.
In addition to this, Nadal said, “I think it is just not the right time. And even if we were not in the current situation, many things are still not clear. There are a number of things that are not right. We are going through a world crisis in every single aspect.”
Additionally, Djokovic explained, “Before we have created PTPA I have spoken to both RF and Nadal, and they did not want to take part in it. I’m not criticizing anybody; everyone is entitled to their own opinion.”
Novak Djokovic respects the decision taken by both Federer and Nadal. However, the media went on to ask another question, “Would you want them to be there? To which Nole replied, “Of course, yes, but we will move forward, we will lay the foundations for the organization that everyone deserves.”
Novak Djokovic also spoke about the organization’s formation and said that this association would help players express their rights and opinions more freely.“I did not participate in founding the organization to oppose anyone. The goal is to represent the rights of tennis players. We know we have a long way to go.” he concluded.
