On Sunday, the tennis world saw a stunning match between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. The match ended with straight sets, which made everyone surprised as to how it happened.

Retired world number one and Rafael Nadal’s coach Carlos Moya admits Novak Djokovic was put under a lot of pressure by his Coach Goran Ivanisevic as the French Open final was approaching.

Besides, Djokovic won all matches in the French Open tournament except the finals, which was impossible for people to digest. Moreover, a straight-set between two legends was just not what people were expecting.

After the quarter-finals, Ivanisevic was very confident that Djokovic will win the finals and thrash Rafael on the court. He also claimed very confidently that ‘Rafael would have no chance in front of Djokovic as the situations are suiting him (Novak) better than Nadal.’

“I Know Ivanisevic: Carlos Moya

Indeed the match went very well, and Nadal thrashed Djokovic in the first set itself. The way Novak’s coach Ivanisevic commented on his player did not encourage him at all, says Carlos.

“I know Ivanisevic, and I understand that it is the role that he has to play,” Moya said. Further talking about how player important it is to be neutral, he said, “On the part of Rafa’s team, nobody would have said something similar, but I think it is something that puts pressure on his player.”

Moreover, Ivanisevic agreed that he was wrong to have such a sort of disbelief in other components. But, he still focused on how right he was making those comments in the first place.

He said, “Nadal has shown me that I was wrong, obviously,” to Sport Klub expressing about Nadal’s win. “I honestly meant what I said. My right is to say what I think and to believe in my player. I thought it was Novak’s year in Paris.” he continued.

“Again, I was a bit too ambitious, saying that Nadal did not stand a chance, but I favored Novak at that moment,” Ivanisevic concluded.
