“My Greatest Rival”: Novak Djokovic Remains Confident Ahead of Rafael Nadal Clash at French Open 2020

Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will play each other in a historical final in the French Open 2020. Additionally, both the players are on the verge of making new records and breaking the old ones.

Nadal has the opportunity to equal Federer’s record of 20 Grand Slam titles. Djokovic will look to win the match and become the first man in the game’s history to win each Grand Slam title twice.

Besides, both the players played their best games to come into the semi-finals. Djokovic had a tough time on the court against Tsitsipas, in what was a very intense match. However, world number one was able to keep his game going and finally stormed into the finals.

While both the players have equal opportunities to win the final at Roland Garros, the Serb believes that the conditions might help him. Additionally, Serb sees the Spaniard as his greatest rival in the game. 

Moreover, Djokovic has faced Nadal more than anyone else in his career in the game. Nole said, “He is definitely my greatest rival. Playing him in so many great matches, the past will have some effect in terms of respect towards each other.” 

Additionally, Djokovic finds himself close to the trophy. Besides, Djokovic believes that he has done it before. He has defeated Nadal on various occasions. And looking at the conditions prevailing in the tournament, Djokovic would like to use this situation for his benefit.

Djokovic shared that this would be the golden opportunity for him to win another Roland Garros title and make a new history. Additionally, with the tennis ball not really jumping to the point where Nadal love playing, it would not be easy for the world number two to win his 13th Grand Slam title at the Philippe Chatrier. 

Serbian looked back at his win against Nadal in straight sets in 2015 and said that it would be the match he would use to motivate himself before the big game.
