United States Tennis Association(USTA) has confirmed the US Open 2020 will begin on 31st August. Consequently, Several Top players have been acknowledging their participation in the United States Championships. However, Former World Number One Simona Halep said that I do not currently plan to play in New York City.
Recently, the Romanian tennis player wrote an email to Reuters in that Simona Halep gave her an explanation over participation in the US Open 2020. “Given the conditions outlined in the US Open announcement this morning, as of today, I do not currently plan to play in NYC. However, as we know, this situation is fluid and that the conditions may change and improve before the entry deadline in mid-July.
I would like to underline that my decision is not set in stone, I have expressed my thoughts to both Stacey Allaster(US Open TD) and Steve Simon(WTA CEO) and have explained the personal circumstances around them.” Halep said.
