The budding tennis stars training at the Adam brown tennis academy at Gleneagles, had a special guest come and meet them the other day. The youngsters just came on the courts in Perthshire like any other day when the tennis star Andy Murray made a special appearance.

The former World No.01 one was going to visit his family before going to participate in the US Open when he decided to visit the tennis academy. The Wimbledon champion for sure made the kids’ day training thereby showing up when they were least expecting it!

One of the players there said, “It was amazing, I looked around and Andy Murray was watching us play. We stayed socially distanced but still had a good chat with him and told him what we were working on.”

The players maintained their distance and followed the safety protocols but made the most of the opportunity.

“They’ll enjoy Watching Him compete at the US Open even more now.”, says the head coach of the training academy

The Head coach of the Adam Brown academy said, “It was a real boost for the players. They have been working hard since we’ve been allowed to play again. It was great that Andy could provide them with some added inspiration ahead of their tournaments hopefully starting again soon.”

“We’ve been lucky enough to have former world number one wheelchair player Gordon Reid training with this group as part of his US Open preparations. And then having Andy around to offer them some advice and tips has been a fantastic end to this current training block,” he added.

According to the head coach, Murray’s presence was very inspiring for all the kids and made them very happy.

A member of the Adam Brown Tennis Academy coaching team, Joe Gill also said, “This was something they will remember for a long time. As the next block of training starts as they go back to school, they will all be trying that little bit harder to fulfill their potential. It was great for Andy to make time for this local tennis program.”
