The U.S.Open is just around the corner and with both Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer not playing in the tournament, Novak Djokovic may have the best chances to win the tournament. However, the world number one is still far from acknowledging it.

In fact, according to him anyone can come to the top and take the trophy. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, various top players have already withdrawn their names from the event. Novak Djokovic said in an interview said, “Every Grand Slam I play is an opportunity to win a title. I know that. But I am not the only one who will look to win. Every player who is playing here has an opportunity to win the trophy.”

“Others Are As Good As The Top Three Of Us”, says Novak Djokovic

Besides, the 17 times Grand Slam winner also added, “Whether I have a bigger chance to win it because Roger and Rafa are not here, I really don’t know. I think it is unfair on my part to talk about that.”

Moreover, Novak Djokovic also said, “That would be a sign of disrespectful behavior towards other players who are present here. I mean there are various players such as Dominic Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, these guys. And they all are as good as the top three of us, me, Roger and Rafa.”

Further, Djokovic thinks the race to the title is very much open. He said, “To be honest, anybody can win it (U.S.Open). And after six months of break from the game, the event could be won by anyone. We don’t really know how we will feel on the court after the long break.”
