US Open defending champion Bianca Andreescu’s aggressive style of play never allows the viewers to move from their seats. Her wide variety of shots give fun and enjoyment for tennis fans. However, Bianca Andreescu says she would like to play tennis in the stadium full of spectators.   

“Playing in front of the crowd just brings the hype into everything. I would say I perform really good under pressure so I felt the crowd gave me a push,” Bianca said to CNN Sport.

In 2019 US Open grand slam tennis tournament saw a record-breaking 737,872 fans attend the event at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. In the event finals, Bianca defeated six-time US Open Champion Serena Wiliams in the straight sets. With her maiden Grand Slam title, Bianca Andreescu becomes the first player born in the 2000s to win a major singles title.

“There will definitely be people watching at home so it would be good to keep that in the back of our minds.” Bianca Added.

The 2019 US Open also delivered record-breaking ratings for sports broadcasting giant ESPN, according to Deadline. Moreover, The network’s three-hour telecast of Bianca Andreescu’s shock win over American great Serena Williams in the finals. It scored a 2.7 overnight rating.

Andreescu made history at Flushing Meadows in 2019. She defeated Serena Williams to win her first Grand Slam title. Moreover, A Canadian won the toss and chose to receive against 23-time major champion Serena at Arthur Ashe. 

“If someone told me a year ago that I’d be in the finals of the US Open this year, I’d tell them ‘You’re crazy,'” Andreescu said on court after the match.

However, Bianca trusted her approach from the very beginning, and her confidence never wavered. Her impressive finals performance in front of the onesided crowd highlighted by her wide variety of shot-making and extreme calmness under pressure. And also the rare ability to stand toe-to-toe with Serena Williams from the baseline.
