While U.S.Open 2020 is going to take place end of this month besides, the two times Grand Slam Champion Simona Halep pulled out from the event due to health concerns.

A few days ago, Romanian resumed her International tennis tour at Prague Open 2020 in the Czech Republic. Moreover, She won her 21st WTA singles title at the same event as well. In the event finals, Halep defeated the Belgian Elise Mertens in the straight sets in the clay-courts.

World No.02 Simona Halep reached Semifinals at the New York major event in 2015, which is her career-best performance in the ten appearances. Additionally, She did not qualify for the third round in last year’s event.

Furthermore, Simona Halep has announced her withdrawal from this year’s US Open through her twitter handle on Monday(17th August). Besides, She wrote, “After weighing up all the factors involved and with the exceptional circumstances in which we are living, I have decided that I will not travel to New York to play the @usopen.” 

Additionally, Simona Halep also said, “I always said I would put my health at the heart of my decision, and I, therefore, prefer to stay and train in Europe. I know the @usta and @WTA have worked tirelessly to put on a safe event and I wish everyone there a successful tournament.”

According to Simona Halep’s recent participation in Prague Open 2020, She will be concluded her remaining 2020 season in Europe. Moreover, Halep has a chance to play at the Rome Open and French Open 2020.

While Rome International Open will take place from 14th September to 21st September, On the other hand, Roland Garros will begin from 27th September in Paris.
