Roberta Vinci, a former Italian tennis player holds a special place in the hearts of tennis fans all across the world. The former world number seven in singles retired from the court in 2018. Additionally, the Italian is also the former rank number one in doubles.
Moreover, she is known for her elegant game on the tennis court. She also is a winner of all the career Grand Slams along with her doubles partner Sara Errani. Although she retired from tennis two years ago, she is still managing to keep herself in the best shape.
She said to the Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, “I try to stay in shape also because, after so many years in which the body is used to intense rhythms, if you stop the body it’s the end .” Additionally, she also said, ” I like to play paddle, go to the gym, sometimes play tennis again.”

Despite retiring from the game, the Italian wishes to return to the tennis circuit. Further, she also keeps herself updated on the happenings of the court. Besides, she still holds a lot of passion and love for the game. She shared, “Tennis has been my whole life and it continues to be. I keep myself updated on tournaments. I don’t miss the competitions. Additionally, I think I have reached the maximum I could, I am at peace with myself.”
Moreover, Vinci would like to return to the game as a coach. She said, ” I would like it, because, as I said, tennis is still my life and I would like to stay on a field even if in another role to transmit all my experience.” Additionally, she would like to work with Garbine Muguruza.
She believes Muguruza has the right potential. Muguruza, the 26- year old Spanish tennis player is currently working with coach Conchita Martinez and holds rank 16th worldwide.
