“I Will Be Back In Palermo”- Simona Halep Assures Her Participation In Ladies Open

Romanian Tennis Ace Simona Halep has brought a piece of sweet news for her fans and tennis world. Former world Number one has decided to resume her international tennis tour at the Palermo Ladies Open in Italy.

Almost more than four months of home rest, Two time Grand Slam Champion gets ready to continue her action in Europe. However, the Palermo Tournament twitter account has confirmed her participation with a video message from Simona Halep. It is now official. @Simona_Halep will participate in the 31st Palermo Ladies Open. Her message, “I’m very happy to announce I will be back in Palermo after ten years. Hope to have a great week over there.”

Notably, World number two Simona Halep has started practice sessions after recovery from a right leg injury. In particular, She recently played in the Romanian domestic tournament Winners Cup for mixed doubles event.

“Halep’s Participation Is Exceptional News”- Palermo Tour Director Palma

The Palermo Ladies Open WTA International will be the first women’s tournament in the resumption of the tennis tours. Moreover, several top tennis players such as former Roland Garros champions Simona Halep, Jelena Ostapenko, and Svetlana Kuznetsova have confirmed their participation in an Italian tennis tournament.

Also, Aryna Sabalenka(11), Petra Martic(15), Elena Rybakina(17), Marketa Vondrousova(18), and Maria Sakkari(20) will compete to Wimbledon Reigning Simona Halep.

Palermo tournament director Oliviero Palma said: “Halep’s participation is exceptional news, it had been decades since Palermo last hosted a former No.1. Our city is very devoted to world tennis, her presence is one of great interest to everybody.”

“We have Halep and, five players between No.10 and No.20 in the world and four between No.30 and No.40 in the World. It will broadcast two games per day in the clear and there will be 160 countries in the world connected.” Palma concluded.

Although, 31st WTA International Palermo Ladies Open will take place from 3rd August to 9th August in Palermo, Italy.
