“I Trained Really Hard To Be Ready”- Coco Gauff on Her Preparation Ahead of US Open 2020

Rising tennis star Coco Gauff gets ready for U.S.Open 2020, which begins on Monday(31st August) in Flushing Meadows. The sixteen-years-old American admitted She wants to play whether fans in the stands or not.

Gauff’s shock win against her idol Venus Williams in the last years Wimbledon brought her into the limelight. She played till pre-quarterfinals on the same. Followed by, Coco Gauff reached the third round at the 2019 U.S.Open as well. Moreover, She won her first WTA singles title at the Linz Open 2019 at the age of 15-years-old.

This year’s US Open series has been playing behind closed doors due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Fans are not allowed to sitting on the stands to watch the matches. However, 2019 Linz Open Champion Coco Gauff did say the empty stands would not be new for her.  

Additionally, World number fifty Coco Gauff said, “I think that the biggest thing is experience and I played as many games as possible this week. I trained really hard to be ready for the US Open. the more games I have in the bag, the better That will be fine.”

Coco Gauff also explained, “For me, I think, in my career, I have more matches without fans. To be honest, it will remind me of when I was just starting out on the tour and there weren’t many people there. my matches. I want to play whether there are fans or not.”

In 2020, Former world number forty-nine Gauff lost her match against compatriot Sofia Kenin in the fourth round at the Australian Open. Furthermore, She reached the semifinals at the Top Seed Open 2020 Kentucky after the tennis tours resumption.
