“I Think I Heard Her Cough”- Serena Williams On Multitasking As A Mother In The Middle Of The Top Seed Open Match

Serena Williams returned into the international tennis circuit yesterday at the Top Seed Open, Kentucky. While Serena became a winner in the first round match, She did not miss her mother’s duty in the middle of the playing on the court as well. 

Junior Williams is a mother of two and a half -years-old daughter Olympia Alexis Ohanian. After the birth of Olympia, we would have seen Williams alone on rare occasions despite the mother and daughter pair. Moreover, Serena has been bringing her daughter with herself everywhere, from the tennis stadiums to business meetings.  

After a three-set win against compatriot Bernarda Pera, Serena Williams said about her mother’s duty while playing on the court in the post-match interview, “I think I heard her cough. I know my baby’s cough. She was drinking, and she was eating grapes. And I’m then like, oh my gosh is she chewing? Make sure you chew.”

Mother Serena also said, “I’m thinking, ‘OK Serena stop looking over there. So I didn’t look over there but I kind of flashed my husband a look like making sure she’s chewing her grapes because she shouldn’t be coughing while she’s eating grapes. That’s the new mom in me and it’s good.”

Williams Sisters Rivalry

Once again, Williams sisters are going to meet head to head at the WTA new tournament Top Seed Open. It will be the 31st meeting in their professional tennis career.

Additionally, Serena Williams is leading in the sister’s rivalry 18-12. In 2018, They met twice at the Indian Wells Masters and the US Open, and also they won one match each other in the straight sets.
