
It was pretty heated when the Williams sister played against each other yesterday in the Top Seed Open in Lexington. After losing the first set by 3-6, Serena Williams came back only to win the remaining two by 6-3,6-4.
Additionally, it was the thirty-first meeting of Serena and Venus Williams, and Serena Williams is leading the head-to-head rivalry by 19-12. Besides, it was a good match with Serena saving her best play for the last.
In her on-court interview, Serena said, “The last couple of games I just wanted to win. I was losing the very tight sets. So I said to myself ‘I really want to try and win this.’ Just for my game and confidence. So I really tried to focus on those last two games.”

Serena Williams Had All Appreciation For Elder Sibling
Though she won the match, she had all praise for her elder sibling, Venus. She shared, “I think she was unbelievable. She is doing so well. I don’t really know how I was able to pull it out of the can.”
In addition to this, Serena Williams is enjoying the empty stands due to the absence of a crowd in the court because of the pandemic restrictions. “I am super relaxed. There is no crowd. It kinda makes it super relaxing. And I have been practicing in a lot hotter conditions today”, Serena said.

Further, Serena Williams added, “I honestly didn’t come here to win for the first time in my life. I came here to play some matches and see what happens. I didn’t really have this much time off ever since the birth of my child. And now I am just trying to get some rhythm and see what happens.”
Serena Williams now enters into the quarter-finals of the tournament. She will face Shelby Rogers in her next match.
