“I only remember Championship Point”- Ana Ivanovic Reveals Her Favorite Memory At French Open

Ana Ivanovic first picked up a tennis racquet at the age of five after watching Monica Seles on the television. However, Serbian concluded her 13-year tennis career with a unique Grand Slam title in 2016.  Recently, Ivanovic opened up her tennis experience, Childhood memories, and motherhood life. 

Last week, former world number one Ana Ivanovic joined Eurosport TV presenter Barbara Schett-Eagle on Instagram live. While Ana answered several quarries of Barbara. In particular, her greatest triumph on a professional career, Win at Roland Garros. Ivanovic said that she was nervous at the time of the French Open. “But two days before [it started], I had training on Chatrier – and suddenly felt, you know what, I’m ready,” Ivanovic continued. “I played so well from the get-go.”

Following the semifinal win against compatriot Jelena Jankovic, Ana Ivanovic confirmed with World No.1. In regards to the final against Dinara Safina, Ivanovic only remembers the championship point.

“I was at the side where my family and coaches were sitting, she was serving,” Ivanovic told former Austrian player Schett-Eagle. “She served my backhand; I wanted to attack it but I kind of mis-hit it. It went down the line towards her forehand – and she stumbled and missed it…”

A remarkable movement still cherished by Ivanovic. And this is the movement where all her hard work comes to her mind. It was the only Major win by Ana Ivanovic in her whole professional tennis career.

On the other hand, Ivanovic spoke about her childhood inspiration, Monica Seles. A Yugoslavia-American Tennis player inspired a five-year-old Ana Ivanovic while watching her tennis match on the television. 

In Ana’s tennis career, she had only one inspiration is nine-time Grand Slam champion, Monica Seles. She was my childhood inspiration, said Ivanovic, “we just missed each other on the tennis court. I met her a few times after she retired and she’s very lovely, down-to-earth, shy, humble,” said Ivanovic

A gorgeous tennis player after her retirement, she married former German football player Bastian Schweinsteiger. And also, a cute couple has two children. Although, Ana Ivanovic revealed that Patty Schnyder, Svetlana Kuznetsova, and Karolina Pliskova were tough opponents on the courts when she was playing.
