“I Have Realized That Both Tournaments Are Going To Take Place”- Elina Svitolina Hopes Of US And French Open

The Ukrainian tennis ace Elina Svitolina believes that both French Open, as well as the US Open, will take place. Recently, She shared her views with a portal in her country.

Additionally, she also shared news from the tennis world and her surroundings. Although she believes that both the events will happen, the Elina Svitolina is likely to pay attention to the Roland Garros. Moreover, she is most likely to remain absent from the North American tour. 

On the question of the occurrence of both the events, the 25-year old tennis star said, “Before I had many doubts. But with the passing of days, I have realized that both tournaments are going to take place.”

Monterrey Open Champion Elina Svitolina believes that while the happening of the clay tournament is clear, the decision of the occurrence of the US Open is more likely to depend on the organizers. She also added, “I think that an agreement will be reached. So that the players can compete at both the tournaments.”

She said, “Playing at both tournaments obviously guarantees a kind of safety. I have doubts as to whether all players will play a tournament or not.”

Regarding her playing decision, the tennis ace shared, ” I think my season will start from Madrid.” She also added, “I will not play the US Open.” Although she also thinks of this decision as a momentary one.

World Number Five Elina Svitolina said, “this is a momentary decision. I am not 100 % sure about anything.” She blames her bad health for the same. Moreover, she added, “I was motivated to play the US Open. But my health comes first and I am not going to risk it.” 

Additionally, she also brings into attention the points system in WTA. Sharing her views on the WTA point system same concerning the ATP, the Ukrainian said, “We were told days ago that the point system would be the same as the ATP.”

Elina Svitolina shared, “I could only earn points if I am able to reach the finals. That is a considerably tough task to achieve. Winning or reaching the finals of the tournament is a kind of complicated task.”

Moreover, the tennis player believes that tennis surroundings are doing the best to hold an event. Additionally, Svitolina’s highest ranking is three. On the other hand, the Ukrainian is a two-time quarter-finalist at the clay-court of Roland Garros. In addition to this, she is also a semi-finalist at the US Open 2019.
