“I Have Always Admired Her For Her Fighting Spirit.”- Bianca Andreescu Praises Simona Halep

Canadian Tennis Star Bianca Andreescu has a blood relationship with Romania. As a reason, Bibi’s parents emigrated from Romania to Canada in 1994 when her father accepted a job in the country. However, US Open Reigning Andreescu spent her childhood with grandparents in Vaideeni commune, Romania. 

In a recent interview with Digi sport, World number six Bianca Andreescu Opens up her childhood memories in Romania. In particular, She reminisced her school days, playing tennis, and spending the weekend with her grandparents.  

Especially, as a 19-year-old Bianca expressed her gratefulness to Romanian supporters. She said, “ I want to thank you for everything you do for me! Your support is very pleasant and I hope that I will come to Romania”

On the other hand, Rogers Cup Champion Bianca asked about a match with Simona Halep in 2019 WTA Finals. Andreescu explained that “ I remember that I was so upset at the end of the match. I was most upset that I had that match ball. Simona played very well. Don’t miss a ball.”

“I realized why I loved watching her play so much. I have always admired her for her fighting spirit. She never gives up! That shows how resilient it is. Congratulations on the match you made. I want my revenge! I want to play that match ball again! “ Bianca added.

In the group stage, Bianca Andreescu met her favorite tennis player Simona Halep on the court as an opponent. Eventually, Andreescu lost to Halep in tight three sets(6-3,6-7,3-6).

“It was a very tough match,” Halep said after the match. “I knew that she’s a great player and she’s playing till the end without giving up. I had to fight. I’m a little bit dead but I have time tomorrow to recover. I’m really happy I finally won a match [again] in the WTA Finals.”
