“I Didn’t Expect That”- Eugenie Bouchard Praises Serena Williams’s Forehand And Athleticism

Serena Williams, arguably the best tennis player, has all praise from Canadian Eugenie Bouchard. The former world number one has 23 Grand Slams to her name. Additionally, she is looking to win another in the upcoming US Open. Serena, 38- years-old, is looking more determined and passionate than any other time to win the event.

In an interview with tennis channel, Bouchard had to pick the best shots and the characteristics of the best tennis players, to which she said, 

” Forehand I think I would go with Serena’s forehand. “ In addition to this, she said, “I think she can just do so much with it. So much variety and that is why it’s so lethal.”

Further, she also added, ” The first time I played against her was in Cincinnati. Like years ago.” Moreover, she also shared, “You know she can hit it super hard. But she can also mix it up a lot. And I didn’t expect that. So that’s what really made an impact on me about how good it was.”

Big Fan Of Her (Serena William’s) Athleticism

The former fifth ranker holds all praise for Serena and said that she was a big fan of the athleticism shown by the younger Williams. She said, “Athleticism? I would go with Serena again.”

Bouchard also added, “She is so physically strong. She can kind of dominate the game with that physical appearance. So, she must be the best in the world at that, I think.”

With the return of the game, while Bouchard will make a comeback in the Prague Open, Serena will be playing at the inaugural Top Seed Open in Lexington, Kentucky.

Additionally, while the American is looking forward to winning the US Open for a record 24 Grand Slam wins, Bouchard is looking to improve her rankings. Currently ranked 332, the Canadian is looking to make it inside the top 300.
