“History Is On My Hands”: Novak Djokovic on Rafael Nadal Playing at Paris Masters



Novak Djokovic has been in the number one position of the ATP rankings for quite some time now. Additionally, if the Serbian manages to be in the same position till March 8, he will break Federer’s record to stay in the number one position for the longest time. Besides, the Swiss legend enjoyed 310 weeks of waiting in the number one position.

However, the record is in danger with Novak Djokovic, who might just break this record. Additionally, the Serb is ready to make history and says that he will do everything to break the record.

For the same reason, Djokovic has opted out of playing at the Paris Masters. Additionally, he would be playing in Vienna, where he believes that he can claim points. These points will assist Djokovic in remaining at the number one position. Moreover, it will also make him stronger and ahead of Nadal, who is currently in the second position.

However, the 13th time winner at Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal, will be playing in Paris. Additionally, many perceive this move by the Spaniard to rule the Serb at the top of the ranking.

On Nadal’s move, Djokovic said, ”Whether or not Nadal play in Paris does not change anything for me. This is because everything is in my hands.” In a conversation with Sportski Zurnal, Djokovic explained, ‘‘I want to make history. I want to be the one who has spent the most number of weeks at the top of the ATP Tour.” He also said that he would do everything to make this goal a reality.

He explained, ”My immediate task is to collect as many points as possible. And try to put as much distance as possible between the hunting pack and me before the next season.”

Additionally, this is one of Djokovic’s major goals, and the Serb will make sure to give his best to get hold of this record.
