“He Is On The Court, It Is A Different Story”- Medvedev Talks On Djokovic’s Winning Mentality Ahead Of US Open

While Daniil Medvedev is preparing for the Western and Southern Open, Besides, the Russian tennis professional has praised the world number one Novak Djokovic.

Additionally, world number five Daniil Medvedev did say, “I think Novak is a great champion. Of course, many things can disturb him. Like his life, like the things that have occurred lately.”


In addition to this, he also said about the performance of Djokovic on the court. He said, “But when he is on the court, it is a different story. He can and has the ability to play some unbelievable tennis. And I should say maybe even some times, as many of us, some things that go against him makes him stronger.”

Will Look To Win The Tournaments

Besides, Medvedev will be competing in both the Western and Southern Open and the US Open. While he will come at the Western and Southern Open as the defending champion, he will also arrive at the US Open as of last year’s finalist. 

The Western and Southern Open will begin from today. And the US Open will start on 31st August. 


There is a possibility that he may meet Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals of the Western and Southern Open. Moreover, Daniil Medvedev has been able to achieve good wins against the 17 times Grand Slam winner. Last year, he was able to win over Djokovic 3-6 6-3 6-3 in the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati. Additionally, he went on to win that crown.

Besides, his opening match in the Western and Southern Open will be a qualifier. Additionally, this will be the first tournament for the 24-year old after the resumption of tennis. The game was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
