“Competition Is In My Nature And The Court Is My Second Home,” Says Venus Williams

While Former world number one Venus Williams has held five Wimbledon titles and two US Open titles in her name, Besides, She has a long time dream to win a title at Roland Garros. Though, American great is excited about back on the court.

In a recent interview with People.com, seven-time Grand Slam Champion Venus Williams shared her quarantine days experiences and return to tennis after a long hiatus.  

Senior Williams said about how did she utilize the home isolation for her body fitness and mind peacefulness, “I’ve had more time to prioritize my personal self-care and learn more about what my body needs from me, which I think is important for maintaining a healthy mindset.”

She also praised her coaching team for keeping her body in a good shape during the home confinement, “active and consistent with my workout schedule thanks to the motivation and support from my team and coach.”

“Throughout quarantine, I kept the mentality that tournaments could return at any point so I wanted to be in the best shape and as prepared as I could possibly be.”, The four-time Olympic Gold medalist added.

Venus Williams On Return To Tennis After Break

World No.69, Venus had resumed her tennis tour at the World Team Tennis event. However, She began her international tour at the WTA new tournament Top seed Open in Lexington. Besides, Venus Williams won her first match in the straights against Victoria Azarenka before fell to sister Serena in the second round.

Additionally, Venus Williams said, “I’m so excited to be back on the court. It was nice to spend some quality time at home during months that are typically very busy for me, but I still took the time to really focus on my training and continue moving, so when we returned to play, I was ready to go.”
