Romanian tennis star Sorana Cirstea turned 30 yesterday and celebrated totally different from rest of her birthdays during in the quarantine. Sorana was born on April 7, 1990, Bucharest, Romania. She started playing tennis at the age of 4 introduced by her mother Liliana. Romanian tennis idol is Former No.01 Steffi Graf who won 22 Grand Slam title. Sorana likes to play Crossword and all ball sports. World No.75 goal is to reach Top 10 in the tennis ranking table.

Sorana Cirstea’s career success story 

Cirstea made her WTA debut at 2006 Nordea Nordic Light Open, Stockholm. However, in the first round, She lost to Kaia Kanepi of Estonia in the straight sets. In 2008, Sorana Cirstea won her first WTA singles title at Tashkent Open, Uzbekistan.  The event final, the 3rd seeded Romanian defeated the 4th seeded Sabine Lisicki of Germany in the tight three sets 2-1(2-6, 6-4, 7-64).

The best Romanian tennis player reached three WTA tournament finals at Budapest(2007), Canadian Open(2013), and Tashkent Open (2019).

Sorana Cirstea reached the Quarterfinals at French Open 2009 Which is the best performance in Grand Slam tournaments since she turned into professional tennis career. At the Australian Open 2020, Cirstea reached the round of 64 eventually she lost to American youngster Coco Gauff in three sets. 

Cirstea attained a career-high rank of No. 22 in June 2013. Currently, she is seating on 75th position in WTA ranking table with 820 points

In doubles career, Sorana Cirstea claimed 5 WTA doubles title at Morocco Open(2008), Luxembourg Open(2008), Estoril(2010), Dallas Open(2011) and Ladies Open Lugano (2019).

Sorana said “Yesterday I made a donation to my hometown hospital! In these tough times, we should all come together and help with whatever we can!”
