Alexander Zverev is a German professional men’s tennis player. Sascha was born on 24th April 1997 in Hamburg, a major port city in northern Germany. A right-handed tennis sensation currently resides in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.

Who Are Alexander Zverev’s Parents, Brother, and Daughter? 

Zverev’s father Alexander Mikhailovich Zverev and his mother Irina Zvereva. Both are Russian and former Soviet Union tennis players. He has an older brother Mischa Zverev, a professional tennis player. Sascha has a daughter Mayla, born on 11th March 2021 to his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea.

Alexander Zverev’s Junior Career 

Zverev began playing tennis at the age of five and stepped into the ITF junior circuit in 2011. He won his first-ever Grand 1 title at the International Junior de Beaulieu-sur-Mer after dismissing Russian Andrey Rublev in the final match.

Later in 2013, Sascha reached the championship match at the French Open and semifinal at the US Open. As a result, he earned a career-high ranking of World No.1 on 28th October. And eventually, he claimed his maiden junior Grand Slam title at the 2014 Australian Open. 

Alexander Zverev’s ATP Career 

Sascha turned into a professional tennis career in 2013. The same year, he made his ATP Tour main draw debut at the International German Open as a wild card entrant. 

Afterwards, Zverev won his first ATP Tour-level title at the 2016 St. Petersburg Open following a three-set win over No.1 seeded Stan Wawrinka. He has won 15 singles titles so far, including four ATP 1000 Masters titles and an ATP Final crown: 2017- Rome Masters and Canadian Masters, 2018- Madrid Masters and ATP Finals and 2021- Madrid Masters.   

In Grand Slam tournaments, Alexander Zverev fell in the final to Austrian Dominic Thiem in the 2020 US Open. However, German reached the semifinals at the 2020 Australian Open and 2021 French Open. At Wimbledon, he ultimately played in the fourth round during the 2017 edition.

Notably, Zverev also lifted two doubles title with his brother Mischa Zverev in the ATP Tour.

Sascha is one of the tallest men in the ATP Tour, with 6 feet and 6 inches (198 cm). Zverev speaks German, Russian and English, and his childhood idol is none other than Roger Federer. In addition, he enjoys playing Golf, Basketball and Football in his leisure time.  

Alexander Zverev named 2015 ATP newcomer of the year and is a dog lover. Moreover, He is an avid fan of football and basketball. And Sascha supports Bayern Munich, is a German professional sports club based in Munich, Bavaria and Miami Heat, an American professional basketball team based in Miami.
