Matteo Berrettini Announces Unfortunate News Ahead of Rolex Paris Masters 2021

Italian stalwart Matteo Berrettini has had a remarkable season. As a consequence, he qualified for ATP Finals 2021. However, he announced the unfortunate news that he has decided to withdraw from the upcoming Rolex Paris Masters 2021 due to the stiffness in his neck. 

The 2021 season’s last ATP Masters 1000 event will take place from 1-7 November on the indoor hard courts in Paris, France. 

“I have had some stiffness in my neck over the last few days so have decided to withdraw from Paris Bercy,” Berrettini posted in his Instagram story. 

The Italian added, “I would like to make sure I am 100% ready to compete in Torino(Turin) for the ATP Finals. Thanks for all the support and see you in Torino.”

Moreover, Matteo Berrettini has had a win-loss record of 41-11 in 2021 and has claimed the title at the Belgrade 1 and Queen’s Club. Significantly, he reached the finals at the Madrid Masters and Wimbledon. He is now ranked No.7 globally. Most recently, he attained the quarterfinals at the Vienna Open 2021.

Notably, ATP Finals 2021 will be held from 14-21 November in Turin, Italy. As of now, Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, Andrey Rublev, and Matteo Berrettini have qualified for the season conclusion event.
