“It’s A Great Feeling”: Carlos Alcaraz Reflects on His Straight Set Win Over Andy Murray at Vienna Open 2021

Spanish rising star Carlos Alcaraz claimed his first win against the former World No.1 Andy Murray. Moreover, the NextGen dispatched the three-time Grand Slam champion in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) in the second round of Vienna Open 2021

Most importantly, the Spaniard levelled the Scot(1-1) in their head-to-head series. Nevertheless, Carlos Alcaraz was delighted with his accomplishment against Andy Murray.  

“For me, it’s a great feeling to play against Andy Murray and to be able to beat him. I played really, really well and I’m just really happy with the performance today,” Alcaraz said in his post-match interview.

Earlier in the first meeting, Carlos fell to Murray in the three-set(7-5, 3-6, 2-6) at the Indian Well Masters 2021.

“Indian Wells was the first time that I met Andy Murray on the court and now I knew a little bit more (about) Andy Murray, so I just knew his game, how to play. I was just trying to be aggressive, not let him play his game,” the 18-year -old added.
