The role of a father is paramount in the growth and development of a child. However, World No.3 Alexander Zverev recently revealed that he feels more confident and calm when his father travels with him during the ATP Tour.
Without discussion, Alexander Zverev is a prominent player in the men’s tennis world. Most notably, he has won five ATP Masters 1000 titles, and two ATP Finals titles and reached the final at the US Open.
On the other hand, Zverev has parted ways with three coaches(Juan Carlos Ferrero, Ivan Lendl and David Ferrer) due to several reasons in the last half dozen years. In addition to this, he is now working with Spaniard Sergi Bruguera and Alexander Zverev Senior(his father).
“Nobody Knows Me Better On The Court Than He(His Father) Does”, says Alexander Zverev
Anyhow, the 25-year-old from Hamburg is competing at the Rome Masters 2022 in Italy. Therein, Zverev reached the semi-final after overcoming Cristian Garin in straight sets(7-5, 6-2).
In an interview in Rome, Alexander Zverev was asked: you had your father back with you on the court. How important is he to you? What does he give you when you’re playing, maybe even what was missing when he was not there?

German continued, “I’m very happy about it. I’m very happy for him to be back here. It gives me a certain calmness, and certain confidence as well because he’s been there from the beginning of my career. I think nobody knows me better on the court than he does.”

In the semifinal at the Rome Masters 2022, No.2 seed Alexander Zverev will meet rival Stefanos Tsitsipas on the Italian red dirt.
