Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are the most recognised athletes in the sports world for almost two decades because of their on and off the court achievements. While Swiss and Spaniard are examples of respecting each other, fellow sportspersons have often admired them. However, the 2009 F1 World Champion Jenson Button described that Roger and Rafa are both unbelievable sportsmen.

Having a love for motorsport, the 40-years-old British racing driver has been a regular Wimbledon attendee.

In a recent interview with Tennis 365, Button replied that he couldn’t do it when was asked to pick the greatest in the sport’s history between Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

“To See Them So Competitive At This Stage of Their Careers Is Just Amazing”: Jenson Button

Several athletes are retiring at the age of 30-years-old, 39-years-old Roger Federer and 34-years-old Rafael Nadal are still on the court and making history.

While Swiss reached the Wimbledon final for the 12th time in 2019, Spaniard took his home 13th French Open title last year.

Jenson Button continued, “It feels like they have been there forever, and it is two decades that we have all been watching them. To see them so competitive at this stage of their careers is just amazing.”

“When they both reach a final of a tournament, there is such great respect between them, and it is a real thrill to see them go at it, given the history they have”, he added.

Even though Roger Federer began preparing for his comeback, Rafael Nadal has now been training on the hard courts ahead of the Australian Open, where he has a chance to lead RF in the Grand Slam record.
