Unfortunately, the American rising star Coco Gauff concluded her Australian Open 2021 campaign before reaching the third round. At the same time, a 16-years-old teenager from Florida admitted that she played her best on Thursday.

At the 2020 Australian Open, Coco Gauff created history after defeating defending champion Naomi Osaka. And she played until the fourth round.

But this year Gauff exited from the first Grand Slam of the season after a second-round straight-set loss(4-6, 3-6) against Ukrainian Elina Svitolina. In the opening round, Coco ousted Swiss Jil Teichmann without dropping a single set.

“Today, I feel like she just played better than I did on the pressure points,” Coco Gauff said in a post-match interview.

“I Just Got Unlucky On The Breakpoints”, says Coco Gauff

World No.48 served five perfect aces in front of World No.5. On the other hand, Gauff didn’t save any breakpoints despite opponent Svitolina holding two out of three.

Gauff continued, “I served probably the best I have served in a long time, to be honest. I just got unlucky on the breakpoints. … She hit her forehand down the line really well, and it was tough for me to defend that.”

2019 Linz Open title winner also emphasised that she felt calm on the court and got many messages saying she looked peaceful.

Coco Gauff additionally said that she felt she was playing well and she felt really in the moment. And She eventually went to say that she didn’t think about last year and tried not to compare results because the past is the past.

Teenager sensation is now looking forward to competing in either Doha Open or Dubai Tennis Championships next month.
