Just a few days left for the Australian Open 2021 beginning, World No.2 Rafael Nadal is preparing himself under Adelaide’s scorching weather. However, the Spaniard admits that he is not obsessed about passing Roger Federer’s all-time Grand Slam record nor by being the best.
Nadal equalled Swiss Maestro Roger Federer in the Grand Slam record when he won his 13th title at the French Open last year. The 34-years-old is now just needing one more title to break the all-time Grand Slam record in men’s circuit.
Roger Federer pulled out himself from the 2021 edition of the Down Under Major event. And the 39-years-old has not appeared in a tennis tour since a semifinal loss at 2020 Australian Open due to right knee injury.

“I did much more than what I ever dreamed in my tennis career. It would be amazing for me to win one more,” Rafael Nadal said in a recent interview with CNN.
“But I know that will not be the key to my happiness in the future. It’s not extra pressure, and it’s not an obsession”, Spaniard added.

Nadal, one of the most hard-working athletes, stated that he is taking every step to being the best in the men’s tennis world according to his way.
Rafa continued, “I keep going, doing it my way. If it happens, fantastic, but if not, I’m more than happy about everything that happened to me.”
Despite being known for the greatest rivalry in the sports world, Rafael Nadal also emphasised that he has nothing but respect for his close friend Roger Federer and it appears the feeling is mutual.
