World No.1 Novak Djokovic is a source of inspiration for several tennis players, especially for his fellow Filip Krajinovic. While Krajinovic and Djokovic have met thrice in the ATP Tours so far, Filip has won a single match by Novak’s walkover.
In a recent interview, World No.31 Krajinovic expressed his admiration for countryman Novak Djokovic. At the same time, he believes that he can beat idol at any time.
The 28-years-old also emphasised that he learnt lessons from compatriot during the Italian Open and Vienna Open matches, where Djokovic bested Krajinovic in the straight sets.
“It is difficult with Novak. He is a hero of the nation, an idol. But I want to win. I think I can do it. We had a very difficult match in Rome, he only won me after two sets, then I missed the set ball in Vienna, but it was a great experience for me.”, Krajinovic said.
Filip continued, “I hope to beat him soon. But, maybe your hand is shortened in important moments when you know that the best of all time stands across the road.”
“Congratulations To Him(Djokovic) For Gathering The Best From Serbia”: Filip Krajinovic
During this unprecedented time, Novak Djokovic is helping his countrymen to prepare themselves for the upcoming season.
17-time-Grand Slam champion has arranged three tennis courts, a weight room, physiotherapists, and stringers for fifteen players practice in his tennis centre, Belgrade.
Speaking about Novak Djokovic’s generous nature, Krajinovic said, “There are 15 of us on the Novak tennis courts, we are getting ready and training, we don’t know what, but we are hoping for the Australian Open.”
“Congratulations to him for gathering the best from Serbia, and Damir Dzumhur is there. It’s nice that Nole is there too, he gives us advice, thank you for that. We hope that soon everything will be more normal, we have also lost motivation when we play in front of empty stands.”, Filip concluded.
