LAVER CUP: Team Europe Line-Up Announced After Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem Withdrew

The fourth edition of the Laver Cup will occur from 24th to 26th September 2021 at TD Garden in Boston, the United States. However, the Team Europe members have been confirmed after the withdrawal of Roger Federer and Dominic Thiem

World No.2 Daniil Medvedev, World No.3 Stefanos Tsitsipas, World No.5 Alexander Zverev, World No.7 Andrey Rublev, World No.8 Matteo Berrettini, World No.11 Casper Ruud will represent Team Europe at this year Laver Cup. 

German Alexander Zverev has been part of Team Europe since the Laver Cup inauguration in 2017 in Prague. On the other hand, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas made his Laver Cup debut in 2019 in Geneva. Russian Daniil Medvedev, Russian Andrey Rublev, Italian Matteo Berrettini and Norwegian Casper Ruud will debut this year.

“Very Excited To Have The Opportunity To Represent Team Europe”, says Casper Ruud 

Team Europe members are really excited and expressed their emotions below. 

“I’m really excited to be representing Team Europe in the Laver Cup this year. Playing as part of a team is special for us, as we don’t get the chance to do that often. I’m also looking forward to being on the same side of the net for once with some of my biggest rivals on the Tour!” Daniil Medvedev said

“It is great being a part of Team Europe again, and I look forward to playing in Boston,” Stefanos Tsitsipas said.

“I feel honoured to be part of Team Europe for the Laver Cup once again. I have so many incredible memories from the event and particularly that final match in Geneva in 2019,” Alexander Zverev expressed. 

“I’ve heard great things about the Laver Cup and can’t wait to be a part of it. It’s going to be an amazing feeling to compete at TD Garden,” Andrey Rublev said.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to represent Team Europe in this year’s Laver Cup. It is a huge honour to play with such an accomplished group of fellow players and being under the guidance of our captain, Bjorn Borg. I am looking forward to the challenge and will do all I can to contribute the best I can and bring home the win for us this year!” Casper Ruud said.
