
At this moment, Former world number one Andy Murray is on everyone’s lips in the tennis world after his epic comeback at the US Open. However, world number one Novak Djokovic admitted he was not surprised by Murray’s fighting spirit.
On Tuesday, Murray faced world no.48 Yoshihito Nishioka in his opening round match at the US Open in Flushing Meadows. This match went on for almost five hours and concluded in the five sets. Eventually, Briton overcame the Japanese after losing his first two sets(4-6, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6, 6-4).
Moreover, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, Naomi Osaka, and many top players have marked their presence as spectators during the match.

Djokovic said when he was asked about Murray’s comeback and his victory against top ten Alexander Zverev, “I saw a little bit of his match. I was not surprised by his fighting spirit and the way he came back to win it because he has done it more than a few times in his career.”
Top-seeded did say that “He’s truly a champion. He has a big heart. He’s a real fighter, a great example of someone who leaves it all on the court.”

Serbian was also impressed by Andy Murray’s amazing comeback after his hip surgery and defeating a top ten player at his first ATP tour appearance.

Additionally, he said, “Being very determined, especially after everything he has been through in the last five years with his hip surgeries, a year and a half ago in Australia probably saying good-bye to tennis, then coming back, winning last week against Zverev, who is a top-10 player, winning a tournament in Belgium last year. I mean, it’s really impressive.”
When Novak Djokovic went on to wish his rival Murray, “I truly, truly hope that he can stay healthy and that he can go on for a long time like this.”
